Welcome to CBT Counsellor-OLD

Do you appear calm and relaxed on the outside but an emotional mess on the inside?

High Functioning Anxiety is characterized by a combination of outwardly calm but internally stressed.

People with high-functioning anxiety may seem accomplished, driven, and capable on the surface, but beneath that exterior, they often struggle with intense feelings of worry, fear, and unease. Is this you

A big issue today is HFA, High Functioning AnxietyThis is someone who appears totally in control on the outside whilst spinning many plates and  who doesn’t appear in the least bit stressed, but underneath, its a completely different story.  Is this you?

I have  special interest in working with Young Persons who today more than even, need as much help as possible. Our young are our future but unfortunately, life today is not always easy for them. I setup and ran an onsite and outreach program for YP’s in Barnet for over 9 years.  This was enormously successful in terms of outcomes and financially for local social services.

It was my own experience of therapies, most types, that led me to where I am now. I suffered a major Life Changing accident 11 years ago and underwent short and long term therapy, covering Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I had to deal with PTSD and resulting Depression. Counselling, was for me, a life saver and now I wish to pass this onto others

We are London and North West London’s premier centre  for Counselling/Therapy and I am sure we can help you with whatever issues you are struggling with, whether it be Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Social Issues, Low Self-esteem.

Life Coaching

The boundaries between Therapy/Counselling & Life Coaching are becoming even more blurred which is why BACP has recently launched a new Coaching division and is currently working on a competence framework to develop professional standards for coaching practitioners

Increasingly these days I find myself coaching rather than counselling. A Life coach is someone who works with individuals to help them set and achieve personal and professional goals, overcome challenges, and make positive changes in their lives.

Life coaching is a collaborative and client-centered process that focuses on empowering individuals to unlock their potential, clarify their values, and develop strategies to reach their desired outcomes.

You may wonder what exactly is Counselling

Counselling is a professional relationship between a trained counselor or therapist and an individual, couple, or group seeking support, guidance, and solutions to various personal, emotional, psychological, or interpersonal issues. The primary goal of counselling is to help clients become emotionally independent by exploring their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in a safe and confidential environment.

Counselling sessions typically involve open and empathetic communication, active listening, and the use of various therapeutic techniques (types of Therapy)  to assist clients in understanding their challenges, identifying patterns, and developing strategies to cope with or resolve their problems. The process may also involve exploring past experiences that might be influencing current difficulties.

It’s important to note that counseling is different from giving advice or providing solutions. Instead, counselors help clients gain insights into their situations and empower them to make positive changes and choices. Confidentiality is a crucial aspect of counseling, ensuring that clients feel safe and free to share their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment or repercussions.

Counselling can be short-term or long-term, depending on the individual’s needs and goals. It is an effective form of mental health support and can be delivered through various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic therapy, humanistic therapy, and more. The specific approach used will depend on the counsellor’s training and the client’s unique circumstances.
